Our People

Since growing up in the George Town district, John has followed a 30 year career path in the construction materials and road surfacing industries.  The first 8 years of John’s career was spent with CSR Readymix  -Construction Materials, employed in a number of roles spanning quarrying, concrete and pre-cast concrete products. 

Since 1999, John has held Senior General Management roles Alex Fraser Asphalt, Bilfinger Berger Services, and Centre State Asphalting with responsibilities across numerous States of Australia including Tasmania.  Having managed the delivery of major pavement infrastructure projects over many years, John has a developed a detailed understanding of quarry material applications across pavements and other speciality applications. He is looking forward to re-acquainting himself with the local Tamar Valley communities in his role as General Manager.  

Rachael has lived and worked her whole career in the greater Tamar region of Tasmania.  She has held a number of roles which has enabled her to build a valuable network of stakeholders to assist in her role at East Arm Quarry.  Communication and machine / mobile plant operation skills are a notable strength.  Rachael has worked with in the hospitality, traffic management and manufacturing industries including a 12 year tenure at Rio Tinto as a Process Operator and Person in Control (Crane Operator). As the quarry’s first point of call for all product and sales enquires Rachael is looking forward to providing a high level of service to the local customer base.
